Men of Valor 12 Kilroys 21
Kilroys continue their home stand with a wild win against the Men of Valor in another late night contest under the lights.
The forecast that evening called for rain about the same time the first pitch was scheduled. The weather cooperated until about the beginning of the 3rd inning where drizzle turned into steady rain. The rain acted as inspiration as Kilroys rallied in the late innings scoring 12 runs in the last 2 innings to waterproof the win for the Lansing pub.
The crowd was a factor as well as the visiting Men of Valor brought a fan based that turned home field advantage into mud as some miscues in the field served as fuel. The crowd was silenced as Kilroys continued to hit and continued to score.
This game ignited the return of some streaks. Phil Metzger and Scott Cowan seemed to get back on track at the plate and the heart of the lineup, Anthony Spinosa, Aaron Gibson, and Bob Kocher played the power ball as they combined for 2 HRs and 10 RBIs. Pitcher Matt Piccirill once again recorded a strikeout which gives him 5 for the season.
Kocher's second at bat caught the eye of league officials as he went yard with a solo shot in the second innning. Kocher has been fighting allegations of substance abuse and has already served a 1 game suspension. League officials looked the other way as the rumors were put to rest in the 3rd inning as Kocher came up limping running into second.
"It felt like something bit me in the buttocks." Kocher said channeling his inner Forrest Gump. After that he was moved to 3rd base as Anthony Spinosa complained about a hand injury. Cowan was moved to shortstop as Spinosa replaced Kocher at second.
The injury bug has come to nest in the dugout as multiple players are nursing injuries. Marc Piccirilli is still battling a hamsting issue as Phil Metzger and Bob Kocher both are feeling that same pain. Matt Piccirilli is suffering a minor ankle sprain and Spinosa has a hand injury.
Rick Metzger suggested a base running clinic and stretching 2 hours before the game. His request was ignored by most teammates. Kilroys hopes the overall health of the team is strengthened by next game.
In other news, the dark cloud seems to be looming over the team as Catcher Kyle Delaney served a 1 game suspension for league misconduct. Officials are currently reviewing tape of an incident involving a horse, a midget, and a sawzall. Details to follow.
Kilroys next game is May 17 at 6:30 against the Brewdogs.

I have some suggestions on how to help with some of these injuries. Anthony your hand won't hurt if you would just stop playing with yourself, Bob stop doping, Marc return the old pepsi bottles you have and buy some cleats, Phil F*ck it your old face it and Matt it might be time to think about bionic ankles because you have an ankle sprain since we have been kids.
ReplyDeleteCatcher? What? I miss one game cause of injury and now i'm kicked out of the outfield?
ReplyDeleteAnd just for your information...It wasn't a Horse, it was a donkey.
Yours Truly,
Kyle

ReplyDeleteYou should have a vote on whos going to go on the DL for the rest of the season rather than quit. Good game friends. Poker tickets $35 I still have 8.
ReplyDeleteWho made the suggestions about injuries and how to fix them? Who ever it was is an idiot.
ReplyDeleteCome up everyone knows Anthony can't stop beating it no man can, Bob we know you need to take the estrogen for the change that your going to be making in you life, Marc hit up the second hand store on Sibley I think Monday's is half price day, Phil your only as old as you feel and I don't think any of your friends care your balls touch the toliet water and Matt I looked into it and as of right now there is no technology for bionic ankles sorry but you will not be the next million dollar man.
I say this shit with love and that make we can get a laugh out of it.
What is this BS that I got the most votes for the one most likely to quit before the season ends? Daniel-son did not quit when he took a cheap shot in the back of the leg and neither do I...so eat slop holes!!! This is what I was hearing when I left 2nd base and rounding 3rd scoring on a base hit!
